Methods The reconstruction of animal models of dark pigmentation of skin by using ultraviolate radiation.The determination of vigor of skin SOD by using xanthine oxidase and of skin lipofuscin content by fluorescence method as well as the observation of changes in skin tissue morphology by HE staining method. Results The chemoprophylaxis group and the medication group indicate an obvious increase of SOD activation in mice skin and of a reduction of lipofuscin content. The test on the skin tissue morphology shows that the two groups have no deposit of dark pigmentation and merely a small amount of deposit. Conclusion Zi Shui Qing Gan Liquid proves effective in increasing the SOD activation of skin and reducing the lipofuscin content.
